New facility dedicated to truck-mounted aerial work platforms
On 22 June 2017, the manufacturer of aerial platforms opens its new 13,000 m2 facility in Seine-et-Marne. This modern industrial facility is dedicated to the manufacture of aerial platforms mounted on heavy trucks. The launch of this new product range equipped with an articulated telescopic jib with a working height of 18 to 26 m was announced in Amsterdam in May during Apex.
KLUBB, a designer and manufacturer of aerial platforms, today opens its new 13,000 m2 facility (of which 7,000 m2 is covered) in Croissy-Beaubourg (77). KLUBB expanded with this new production site at the start of 2017 with the goal of developing its business in aerial platforms mounted on heavy trucks
This new industrial facility joins the 20,000 m2 existing site in Ferrières-en-Brie, a site dedicated to the production of vehicle-mounted aerial platforms (for vans, chassis and pick-ups).
The Ferrières-en-Brie site opened at the start of 2016 and currently produces 1,000 platforms per year, with the goal being to reach 1,700 per year with the new Croissy site, all product categories included.
“Today the group is showing 20% growth, carried by the development of our export activity,” said Julien Bourrellis, President of KLUBB. “The aerial-platform industry is very competitive, with international actors supported by very aggressive financial backers. Our family-run group must therefore find innovative ways to diversify in order to continue producing in France and develop further. Our investment in the production of aerial platforms mounted on heavy trucks is a major aspect of the strategy,” he added.
The company notably opened up a second design office at the end of 2016 to facilitate the design of these new products. Additionally, the company acquired the intangible assets of Comilev, specifically the patents and drawings of the Xtenso range, so as to accelerate the development of its truck-mounted platforms.
The Xtenso range is a best seller, and Comilev’s know-how in large aerial platforms dedicated to infrastructure, combined with KLUBB’s expertise in vehicle-mounted aerial platforms, will now enable KLUBB to offer a complete range of aerial platforms equipped with articulated telescopic jibs, providing a high level of performance. Three models are currently available:
The first, Xtenso3 by KLUBB, is an 18.5 m telescopic platform with lateral outreach of 13.90 m, designed to be mounted on a heavy truck from 14 T using the chassis or work cell model.
The Xtenso4 by KLUBB reaches a working height of 21 m with lateral outreach of 16.40 m mounted on a heavy truck from 16 T.
Finally, the Xtenso5 by KLUBB features a working height of 25.5 m and lateral outreach of 20 m mounted on a heavy truck from 16 T.
All these models come with unrestricted lateral outreach, three-operator and 280 kg basket capacity and a 180° articulated telescopic jib.
Since KLUBB launched its range of aerial platforms at the end of 2015, the group has created more than 100 jobs in Seine-et-Marne.
